Nationally, the trucking industry is short about 80,000 drivers, according to the American Journal of Transportation. And the shortage is affecting all of us. Fewer people driving means fewer goods moving, which makes the prices of goods go up for consumers. Some companies are pulling out all the stops by offering eye-popping paychecks.
