ICONS AT 11: Heart's Ann Wilson Talks About Body Shaming

Every weekday at 11 The Bus plays three songs in a row from iconic artists and bands, and Friday's Icon at 11 is Heart. If you've ever heard Ann Wilson sing an amazing Led Zeppelin cover, or watched Nancy Wilson shred a guitar, their iconic status isn't in question. But I was shocked/not shocked to see how much Ann Wilson was hurt by the comments on her looks and her body, even during the 80's when Heart was at the height of their commercial success.

I've heard people say, "Nancy's the hot sister", talk negatively about Ann's weight, or even suggest Ann would be a better singer if she lost weight. That's just SAD. This immensely talented woman was the target of vicious jabs back in the 80's...could you imagine how much worse it would have been if social media had been around?
