Remember those old plastic View-Masters you or your parents played with as kids? They were usually red or tan, and they came with cardboard discs with tiny photographs on film?
Well, there's now a View-Master MOVIE in development.
It's unclear HOW that'll work . . . whether it'll actually involve the feel of looking through the toy, or if it'll merely have a plot that involves View-Masters. Either way, it'll probably be in 3-D, since that was the point of the toy in the first place.
One of the producers said, quote, "Since the 1940s, View-Master has inspired wonder and joy in children of all ages, creating huge opportunities for storytelling."
Yeah, it sounds like they're totally in over their heads on this one. But believe it or not, this isn't the first time someone has attempted a View-Master movie.
There was talk of doing one in 2009, but it never happened . . . possibly because they realized it sounded a lot better in THEORY than it did when you actually tried putting it together.
