I think things are getting ridiculous....Jennifer Sinclair, an elementary principal in Omaha, Nebraska was placed on leave after an interesting memo went out to staff.
In the memo, it was stated that certain Christmas-themed things were not appropriate.
Things that are OK: more 'winter' themed things like sledding, scarves, and Olaf from Frozen.
Things that are NOT OK: Santa, Christmas trees, candy canes, reindeer, Christmas carols and more.
Specifically, with the candy canes, the 'J' supposedly stands for Jesus, red is the blood of Christ and white represents his resurrection.
Pretty sure candy canes don't go that deep. It's a cane. It resembles a shepherd's crook. You can see how the staff picked up on how wacky this principal is. What do you think of this principal's decision?
Update: Principal Sinclair apologized to parents in a letter, but was put on administrative leave for violating district policy that does permit Christmas trees, Santa and other non-religious seasonal symbols to be displayed.
