It was sooo cold in New England that so-called and 'slurpee waves' hit the shores of Nantucket. One very, very brave surfer took to the water to ride the icy waves. The photographer who went along to do a photoshoot said, 'Slurpee waves are the kind of thing you might only be lucky enough to see once, so I count myself as very lucky to have seen them twice.' He saw them two years ago. (And with climate change, maybe he'll get a third chance in the not too distant future! Yay?!)
