Driverless Pizza Delivery Is On The Way

Domino's Pizza and Ford are teaming up today to begin testing self-driving delivery cars.

Wait. What? Then how does it get to the door? Here’s how it works…

Ford has given the pizza giant a Ford Fusion Hybrid with camera, sensors, radar and more for use in Ann Arbor, Michigan for the next month and a half. There will be a Ford engineer inside the car, hidden behind tinted windows and driving the vehicle during the testing. Customers will get a text message that their pizza has arrived, and will have to put in a code on a touchscreen on the car to get their order out of a warming oven inside the vehicle.

This isn't the first time the pizza giant and the automotive giant have partnered up.  Ford's Sync already works with Domino's:
