Prince’s 1987 concert film “Sign o' the Times” to air September 16th on Showtime
The news is pretty huge considering the film has been out of print in the United States since 1991. The concert film, which was shot at Paisley Park Studios and on tour in the Netherlands and Belgium, was released in theaters in 1987, but only made about $3 million, although a home video release did go platinum.
The concert features performances of songs from Prince’s “Sign o’ the Times” double album, including “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man," "Hot Thing," "If I Was Your Girlfriend" and "U Got the Look,” along with his hit "Little Red Corvette" and more.
