A Belgian 3D-printing company is releasing a free design to help places slow down the spread of the coronavirus.
Materialise introduced the design that helps create plastic attachments for door handles, allowing people to use them with just their arms. The idea is to reduce the need to touch a common area after experts noted the virus can survive for days on some surfaces.
The design is brilliant and needs only a few screws to be attached around door handles, allowing a door to be opened with a covered forearm rather than a hand.
It took 24 hours, after a brainstorming session, to complete the design. The Mayo Clinic has now printed their own thanks to Materialise.
