Great news for formula one driver Sebastien Bourdais.
He was the first driver to hit a speed of over 230 MPH at the Indianapolis 500 qualifier Saturday.
But the terrible news is what he hit seconds later—the wall at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Yeah and if you think these cars move fast on the track, take a look at how fast they move when they come off of it. If you notice the MPH tracked at the bottom of the screen, it briefly jumps from 231 MPH to 331 MPH as the 38-year-old’s car comes “unglued” from the track.
Fortunately, despite the horrific looking crash, he should make it to 39 as IndyCar released a statement saying that Bourdais has been hospitalized, and has been diagnosed with fractures to his pelvis and a fracture to his right hip.
