Woman Warns After Tracking Device Was Slipped Into Her Purse

Listen to Max & Amy's conversation about Texas woman who posted a TikTok video warning others to check their purses after she found a tracking device in her bag after an evening out with friends.

In her video, Ellis explains that she went to dinner with a group of friends and at the end of the night, she was cleaning out her purse and found something that didn't belong to her. It was a Tile, which is a Bluetooth tracker that people put on their keys, phones and wallets to locate them if they get lost. “It's not mine, I don't know how it got in my purse,” she says in the clip. “I immediately took the battery out, don't worry but yeah... Check your purses and stay safe out there.”

Ellis says she found the Tile before she got home and first made sure it didn’t belong to anyone at the dinner. She says she hasn’t reported it to the police because she doesn’t know when it was placed in her purse and she doesn’t want to put the battery back in it. But she posted the PSA to alert others and people are paying attention, her video has gone viral with a million views so far.
