A three foot deep snowfall covered the red, sandy hills in the town of Ain Sefra, Algeria.marking the biggest snowfall in the Sahara — just days after data revealed 2016 was the warmest year ever. There was a dusting of snow there in December, but the town hadn’t seen snow since February 18, 1979.Amateur photographer Karim Bouchetata said, “Everyone was stunned to see snow falling in the dessert, it is such a rare occurrence."(Credit Daily Star)
