I just read an article in the Des Moines Register that Maverick is now the sixth most popular name for boys here in Iowa because their parents are such fans of the movie "Top Gun". According to the Register, nationally "Maverick has gone from 864th most popular baby boys name in 2000 to 47th most popular last year. Fox believes at least some of this recent rise in popularity can be attributed to the new "Top Gun: Maverick" movie.
With the sequel now in theaters, it's time to vote.
