Join us for this night bike ride through the streets of downtown Des Moines and nearby trails sponsored by Sammons Financial! Live music and refreshments both before and after the ride. Come prepared for contests in Best Bike Lights, Best Helmet Lights, and Best Costume. The largest registered team gets the coveted Moonlight Cup trophy and a group prize. Cruise the streets in the moonlight while helping a great cause - the children of Orchard Place.
New this year! LOVE LIGHTS sponsored by the Polk County Board of Supervisors! This is a new aspect of the ride intended to call attention to the incidence of mental health issues in the general population. Bikers whose lives have been personally touched by mental health issues are invited to wear a LOVE LIGHT in the Moonlight Classic. Sign up on your registration if you’d like to wear a LOVE LIGHT and one will be place in your registration bag to wear in the ride.
