This time the dog was in the passenger cabin. Actually, a flight attendant told the owner it had to be in the overhead bin--even though it was in an FAA approved soft kennel that is supposed to slide inder the seat in front of you. Passengers heard barking for about 30 minutes, then nothing. Turns out the 10 month old puppy was DOA when they landed.
A fellow passenger tweeted about the incident as well as took pictures of the dead puppy.
Interestingly, according to USA Today, United is responsible for a third of animal deaths on airlies over the past five years.
