Robin Williams has died of an apparent suicide, according to police.
He was 63.
On Monday morning, a 911 call came in to Marin County Sheriff's Department in California. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
Williams won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in Good Will Hunting. He was known for dozens of other roles in films like Good Morning, Vietnam, Dead Poet's Society, and Mrs. Doubtfire. He first gained fame as "Mork" in the sitcom, Mork & Mindy. His most recent notable role was on the CBS sitcom The Crazy Ones. It was cancelled after one season.
A spokesman for Williams said that the actor had recently been struggling with depression. More on the story from NBC 4.
The New York Times' Dave Itzkoff shared this statement from Williams' wife, Susan Schneider.
"This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken."
